3D Phantom Menace Trailer Debuts Online and With 3 Musketeers

The trailer for The Phantom Menace in 3D debuted this past weekend during screenings of The Three Musketeers to rave reviews.  I personally did not see it, but the buzz around the trailer has been pretty positive, which may force me to go to a screening of The Three Musketeers sometime this week to see some Star Wars footage in 3D for the first time in my existence.  I do b*tch about the Star Wars prequels like a whiny little troll, but if I had to pick a favorite it would hands down be The Phantom Menace.

Outside of this film being the origin of Jar-Jar Binks, I actually think it had the best story to tell of the 3 prequels.  Well, technically ROTS had the best story to tell, but we all know that didn’t happen, so I usually look to TPM when asked about which Star Wars prequel was my favorite (damn it’s hard to use favorite in the same sentence as Star Wars Prequel).  I was still a teen when this particular film came out, and I was fully enthralled with the possibility of new Star Wars movies, so I kind of gave this prequel a pass.  Hell, I saw it in theaters over 10 times, which I can’t say for Clones or Sith, so maybe it wasn’t that bad of a movie after all.

Regardless of my fanboy hate for the prequels in general I’ll still go and see TPM in 3D.  How can you not?  The Phantom Menace as a whole is by far the best prequel in my opinion, so I definitely want to check it out in the 3rd dimension.  Check out the boring 2D trailer for it below, and remember if you want to see it in 3D you’ll have to go to the Three Musketeers sometime before it gets yanked from theaters for lack of sales.  You’ve been pretending like you’ll avoid the re-release of The Phantom Menace on 2/10/12…
