40-Minute Inside Look at Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 3 – “The Long Night”

HBO has released a new episode of The Game Revealed, which is a behind-the-scenes series for Game of Thrones. Each week, after a new episode of the show airs, an episode of The Game Revealed drops to give fans an inside look at how the episode was created.

This one in particular is quite lengthy clocking in at 40-minutes, which makes sense considering “The Long Night” was the longest episode of this season so far. These are different than the Inside Look featurettes (embedded below) that air after new episode on HBO too, so if you want even more insights into how the Battle of Winterfell was shot, the video above is your key.

I will say that the episode was surprising, but the more I think about it, the more I question if it was really that good of an episode. You definitely couldn’t see most of it thanks to the natural lighting used, and quite frankly, there weren’t many impactful deaths to be seen, some may have even been wasteful. I’m also still stunned that one of the show’s major plot lines has just come to an end, because it kind of felt a bit shortchanged.

Oh well, it was still a tense affair to watch, so head on up above to see how the episode was shot.
