The first month of this year saw the launch of a few good movies that entertained the audience. One such movie is ‘A Haunted House’.

Technically movie genre refers to the method in which the narrative elements of the movie are being constructed. Genre sets the tone of the movie. Coming-of-age Drama, Adventure, Crime, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Action, Horror, Thriller and Social Drama are a few of the most popular movie genres. The trend of making a movie involving more than one genre is catching up among movie makers these days. One of the movies with a multi genre approach is ‘A Haunted House’.

This is a horror movie that has elements of comedy in it. A few people who watched this movie share the opinion that ‘A Haunted House’ imitates the style of movies like ‘The Devil Inside’ and ‘Paranormal Activity. One of the producers of this movie went on to say that ‘A Haunted House’ is not a parody of the two movies; instead it is a movie with funny characters.

Essence Atkins plays the role of Keisha

This American actress who will be always remembered for her roles in UPN sitcom Half & Half and Dee Dee Thome, plays the role of Keisha in ‘A Haunted House’.

Cedric Antonio Kyles as Father Doug Williams

He is better known by his professional stage name Cedric the Entertainer. In this movie he plays the role of Father Doug Williams who tries his best to help Malcolm Johnson drive the ghosts from Keisha.

Other actors of ‘A Haunted House’ are Robin Thede and J.B. Smoove as Kisha’s mother and father, Nick Swardson as Jim the psychic, David Koechner as Dan the security man,  Dave Sheridan as Bob, Dan’s associate, Marlene Forte as Rosa, Alanna Ubach as Jenny and Affion Crockett as Ray-Ray.

‘A Haunted House’; a movie worth watching

This movie is about a young newly married couple who have just relocated to their new home. The two dream of starting a new life together. They get started to set up their new home. Just when you think that everything in the movie is going perfectly well, hold your breath. The young couple finds that they are not alone in their home. Unfortunately they learn that Keisha is possessed. Malcolm her husband in order to safeguard their married life, does everything that he can possibly do to drive the ghost out of her.

Final Verdict: This movie is worth your time and attention.
