A Lost Star Wars Villain Will Appear in ‘Rogue One’

We were first introduced to Grand Moff Tarkin in the original Star Wars back in 1977, and now he’ll return in the Rogue One spinoff, albeit in CGI form. Since Peter Cushing passed away earlier this year – and instead of attempting to find a look-alike – production will be using CGI to recreate Tarkin. As if the project isn’t already going to be difficult enough, the crew will have to comb through additional footage of from Cushing’s horror movie days to recapture footage of his legs, since he was only filmed from the knees up during Star Wars. Tarkin’s importance to the saga lies with his involvement in the creation of Darth Vader, in which will further explore the Dark Lord’s backstory.
