It should be stated that if you’re planning on going into Solo: A Star Wars Story spoiler free, you shouldn’t continue on with this post. You’ve been warned.
Mark Hamill may have possibly spoiled a pretty major cameo in Solo: A Star Wars Story while talking on the Cape Up Podcast. It’s a cameo that you may have not been thinking about for the film either, which is why it’s a pretty serious slip if it turns out to be true. Here what Hamill said:
“[Anthony] Daniels was so happy, ‘cause he’s in every single ‘Star Wars’ movie. Every single one. All the prequels, he’s in ‘Rogue One,’ he’s in ‘Solo’… Whoops! I hope that’s not — erm… but anyway, he’s in every single ‘Star Wars’ movie. That’s not such a reveal — all ‘Star War’s fans expect him to be in every movie.”
There you have it, old Golden Rod will be keeping up his streak of being in every single live-action Star Wars movie to-date. A record that only he now holds as other original trilogy actors have either passed away (Kenny Baker), or can no longer perform their characters due to their physical health (Peter Mayhew).
I for one was surprised to hear about this cameo, but I’m excited to see how it goes down. He should be in Princess Leia’s or Captain Antilles’ employ during the timeline that Solo is set in, so it’ll be interesting to see how 3PO shows up.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
