ABC Executive Hints That Talks are Underway for a Star Wars TV Show

Disney owns ABC and Lucasfilm, which means it’s well positioned to bring a Star Wars TV show to the airways, and according to ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey, this dream project may one day be a reality.

Dungey was asked about the possibility of Star Wars hitting the network at some point in time, and instead of just shitting on the question with vague answers, he actually discussed that talks have been taking place. Dungy said, “As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes. We have had conversations, and we will continue to have conversations with Lucasfilm. It would be wonderful to extend the franchise.”

Don’t get too excited though, because apparently these talks are in very early stages according to Variety’s Daniel Holloway. At one time a Star Wars TV show was in the works before George sold the farm to Disney, so this idea of a live action show set in a galaxy far, far away may not be as crazy as it may sound. Stay tuned for more details.
