During Disney’s earnings call yesterday CEO Bob Iger told the press that he’s already seen a cut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and that it’s, “A great next chapter in the Skywalker Family saga.”
There are two things to note about this statement. The first being confirmation that The Last Jedi has more or less been edited to the point to where Johnson feels confident enough to screen it with Disney brass. The second being Iger’s statement on the Skywalker Family saga. If we want to read into it he could be confirming someone’s (Rey) heritage, or he could just be emphasizing the fact that Star Wars Episode I-IX are about the Skywalkers, and Luke and Leia are indeed Skywalkers, as well as Kylo Ren.
Who knows, it could just be exactly what he says, but it’s always fun to speculate about Star Wars, so there you go. You can see the tweet that tipped us off to this revelation below.
Perk of being @WaltDisneyCo CEO: seeing The Last Jedi early. Bob Iger calls it "a great next chapter in the iconic Skywalker family saga."
