According to These GIF’s We’re All Gonna Get Some Xenon Radiation

Those poor bastards over in Japan are getting their second helping of radiation (Fat Man and Little Boy anyone?) due to the unfortunate earthquake and tsunami combo that struck their country last week. Their nuclear reactors have been releasing radiation at an alarming rate due to some meltdowns from the natural disaster, and some of the airborne death has already made its way around the World.

What you’ll see in the gif at this link is (site wouldn’t let me upload the files, sorry) the real-time movement of Xenon 133, which is a radioactive isotope described in Wikipedia as, “Xenon-133 (brand name Xeneisol, ATC code V09EX03) is an isotope of Xenon.  It is a radionuclide that is inhaled to assess pulmonary function, and to image the lungs.  It is also often used to image blood flow, particularly in the brain.”  So does this mean our hearts and lungs will start glowing like a lightning bug’s as*hole?

Not likely, but it is still disturbing to think that all of these radioactive gases are now floating around the Earth with all of the other hazardous materials we expel into the air.  I don’t care what anyone says, radiation is radiation.  Who gives a sh*t if it’s supposedly not harmful.  Obviously it’s not natural if we has humans have to build nuclear reactors to deal with the materials that produce it.  The Xenon 133 radioactive gas isn’t the only one floating around the air stream these days either.  There’s also some poisonous iodine and cesium gas milling around.

Sounds like a great time to quit eating imported foods from Japan.  No more kelp or seaweed rolls for you sushi lovers.  Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t touch that sh*t with a ten foot pole.  I don’t care if the experts claim that this radiation won’t harm you, I’m still not going to feel good about it infecting the atmosphere.  Oh well, the World is going to end in a few months anyway right?  You’ve been thinking about eating, drinking, and being merry for tomorrow you may die, or at least have glowing lungs…
