Admiral Ackbar and First Order Officer Star Wars Black Series Exclusive Video Review

The Toys R Us exclusive Admiral Ackbar and First Order Officer Star Wars Black Series 2-pack is now shipping, so I ripped mine out of their box to put them on display for review. I have to say that this is an odd 2-pack due to the inclusion of a generic character, but the fact that you get a 6-inch Ackbar makes it well worth the $40 price tag.

Ackbar looks fantastic, and has a great sculpt. His lower jaw moves and can be put into different positions, which makes for some fun posing opportunities for photos if you’re into the toy photography scene. His head doesn’t move too much due to its size, but the rest of his articulation points are well crafted and flexible. I would have loved to have seen him in his classic trilogy white and beige uniform, but his Resistance gear suffices for now.

The generic First Order Officer on the other hand is just that. He’s as plain and basic as it gets. I think he’ll be good to use for custom figures, or to steal parts off of, but outside of that he’s very boring to look at. He does pose fantastically though, so if you swap his head out for someone more prominent, you can have some fun customizing the character.

You can check out both of the figures in the full video review below.

Ackbar Review Summary

Sculpt - 8.5
Build Quality - 8.5
Price - 7
Paint - 8.5

Even with the generic First Order Bob guy, this 2-pack is still worth collecting thanks to the fact that you get a 6-inch Ackbar.
