Ahch-To’s “Caretakers” Revealed As New Alien on the Island

EW broke yet another bit of news from Star Wars: The Last Jedi with the reveal of the Caretakers, which are a fish-bird alien species charged with keeping up the structures on Ahch-To where Luke has been living for who knows how long. Apparently these aliens aren’t huge fans of Luke being on the island, but they do tolerate his presence.

The article also provided a new shot of the Porg aliens, which look like little owl-shaped penguins. Apparently one befriends Chewie, or wants to learn how to fly the Falcon based on the new image released.

Finally, this article confirms that the book we saw in Luke’s tree structure is the Journal of the Whills, and that the structure is more of less the epicenter of the Jedi beliefs, so clearly it’s an important location. It could be a location that Snoke is seeking out as well, so Rey’s arrival on the island may be the tipping point for Luke’s location to be revealed to the First Order.
