I like to think that the average gamer isn’t the stereotype of one that was established in the 80’s and 90’s. You know the one I’m talking about, the sweaty, greasy, zitty teenager/man-child living in mom’s basement (I live in the attic, thank you very much). Joking aside though, gaming has come a really long way in terms of who it reaches in the last couple of decades, to the point where pretty much everyone has played a video game at some point.
Not only that, but as Alienware points out in their latest study/survey/infographic, most of them aren’t ashamed to call themselves gamers. In fact, many of them see it as a term of endearment rather than an insult or a degrading term, and that’s great! There’s nothing wrong with being a gamer or enjoying video games, you should tell your friends about it! Who knows, maybe you’ll accidentally introduce someone to gaming who ends up loving it!
