One of the most interesting announcements to come out of this year’s PAX Prime was Atari’s Alone in the Dark: Illumination.
Essentially a re-imagining of the original Alone in the Dark, Illumination takes the groundwork laid by one of the progenitors of the survival horror genre and adapts it for a more moderns audience, with the addition of multiplayer, co-op gameplay.
Atari’s Alone in the Dark: Illumination reveal was certain a shock to many, as the franchise has been dormant for a few years and though dead by many following a terrible film and lackluster game in 2008.
The first screenshots of Alone in the Dark: Illumination were released alongside the game’s announcement and feature some impressive lighting and atmospheric environments. These images can be found below.
