Anime-Inspired Red Ash Kickstarter Kicks Off

Red Ash – The Indelible Legend has officially announced its existence via Kickstarter. Keiji Inafune, creative mastermind behind Mega Man Legends, has teamed up with Art Director Kazushi Ito and Director Masahiro Yasuma to develop their cult classic’s spiritual successor.

Comcept is taking the game development reigns, while Studio 4℃ is behind Magicicada (which has a separate Kickstarter), an anime project developed alongside The Indelible Legend. These two projects exist within the same universe, albeit a parallel one, allowing both sides of development to truly and freely flesh out the story, characters, and world according to their own creative vision.

Storytelling and immersion seem to be prioritized by both companies, with the ultimate goal of having a marriage between two different mediums. The concept seemed interesting enough for over 4700 backers to donate nearly half of their goal; after seeing that, collecting $800,000 within a month doesn’t seem too farfetched.
