Antonio Brown Is the Madden 19 Cover Athlete – No Curse Please

EA today revealed that Antonio Brown will be the cover athlete for Madden 19, which is releasing on August 10. Brown was also awarded a 99 OVR rating in the game.

Being a Steelers fan I’m a bit conflicted over this announcement, mostly due to the Madden curse, which is a curse for a reason. For more than a few years the cover athlete on that year’s Madden release almost always got hurt or had a subpar season. I’m hoping that juju doesn’t apply to AB, but I’m am very sports superstitious, so I can’t overlook it in this case. On the other hand I love seeing my guy on the cover in the league’s best uniforms, so like I said I’m conflicted. All I can hope for is that Brown continues his magic in the 2018-19 NFL season, and that the Madden Gods don’t do him wrong.

Madden 19 is releasing for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on August 10, but if you pre-order the HoF edition you can play three days earlier. Make sure to check out our hands-on preview of the game from this year’s E3.
