Marvel and Disney opted to spend $5 million last night for a 30-second Super Bowl ad for Avengers: Endgame, which the companies used to show off a brand new teaser-sized trailer for the film. It was short, but oh so sweet thanks to all of the new footage it showed off. It skipped out on dialogue in favor of visuals, but those visuals offered up plenty to speculate on.
I went ahead and did just that in the video embedded above, which breaks down each of the new shots featured in this trailer, as well as offers up my two cents on the film’s plot based on what we were shown. This trailer definitely aimed for showing fans what the state of the world is like post Thanos’ snap thanks to the dreary shots of New York City, but it also sets the stage for the hero’s to do what they do best, and that’s not sit around and feel sorry for themselves. We get to see plenty of what Steve and company are up to, but the trailer also touched based with Tony and Nebula, so for the most part it showcased the key surviving players.
Head on up above to check out the full breakdown.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
