The FPS giant Battlefield 4 looks like it is back and bigger than ever on next gen consoles.

Splitting time at the events for Microsoft and EA, Battlefield 4 added some new luster while restoring a feature that was absent in the third game in their series: the Commander option. Intelligently matched with tablet and Smart Glass technology, the return of Commander should be a rousing success.

The big takeaway was the smoothness of the videos that Dice/EA put on display. Consoles will be jumping into the 64 player goodness of PC Battlefield in the next gen, so it was important to show that new console hardware could maximize the capability of the next game in the series.

A lot of buzz surrounded the title throughout the day, many analysts openly pondering whether it was primed to take the market lead from the Call of Duty series. That remains to be seen, but the competition can only benefit fans of the genre.
