Behind the Scenes With the Stuntmen of Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic is finally here, and I’m guessing that it’s oozing awesomeness into your gaming cave wherever that may be.  I unfortunately do not own this game, and I probably never will.  This is mainly due to the fact that I don’t have a super gaming rig, and I’ve vowed to never play MMOs because I know what they’ll do to me.  Luckily for me I know some of the Action Factory stunt team, which were heavily used in the making of some of the SWTOR trailers from Blur, so I’ve had some inside looks at what it took to make some of the more amazing fighting sequences that were mo-capped for this game.

Philip Silvera was the stunt coordinator for “The Return”, which was one of the more awesome SWTOR trailers that was released to the press.  He employed the stunt fighting talents of Action Factory’s Eric Linden and Joe Ross, as well as others to capture the mo-cap needed to make this b*tchin trailer.  He then edited down the stunt performances and set them to the actual trailer footage after Blur did their CG magic.  The result is an amazing look at making Star Wars magic that any fan of the franchise, and/or stun performer will appreciate.  Check it out below and let the team know how they did.  You’ve been wishing that you could get paid to play like a kid for a living…
