Behold the Beauty of the Real Life Ahch-To With This 4K Tour of Skellig Michael

One of the new planets to be featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was Ahch-To, which is where Rey eventually found Luke Skywalker at the end of the movie. The planet will play a major role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, thanks to the fact that we will see Rey go through some sort of training with Luke while on the planet.

The mystical looking island that the two above films used as a far away planet is an island off of Ireland called Skellig Michael. Almost everything you’ve seen of it featured in the film is actually how it looks in real life. In fact, thanks to the devinsupertramp YouTube channel, you can now get a 4K look at the island with a bit of a history lesson wrapped around it to explain more about the Island’s past and what it used to be used for. The footage is breathtaking and provides the best look yet at what the real life Ahch-to looks like from up close, so I highly suggest checking it out above.

If you want to see it on the big screen again you don’t have to wait long, because Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters starting tomorrow on the 14th in most locations that are running early screenings.
