Ben “I F’d up” Roethlisberger made his first comments to the public and the Steelers today in regards to his 6 game suspension.  From the looks of things this caveman seems to be getting the point now.  I guess losing $3.1 million dollars can make even the biggest dummies realize they may need to change.  Hopefully, Big Ben will take this lesson and return to the championship form we know he can achieve.

Ben went on to say, “The Commissioner’s decision to suspend me speaks clearly that more is expected of me, I am accountable for the consequences of my actions.”  He continued to remind us that, “Though I have committed no crime, I regret that I have fallen short of the values instilled in me by my family. I will not appeal the suspension and will comply with what is asked of me — and more.”

On the subject of missing 6 games Ben said, “Missing games will be devastating for me, I am sorry to let down my teammates and the entire Steelers fan base. I am disappointed that I have reached this point and will not put myself in this situation again.”  Do you think we can believe this dude?  I sure as hell hope so, because I’m tired of Bengal and Browns fans thinking their teams are on the up and up.

Ben ended by saying, “I appreciate the opportunities that I have been given in my life and will make the necessary improvements.”  As a Steeler fan I hope these contrived comments written by his publicist have some truth to him.  He is a turd as a person, but you can’t deny his athletic ability on the field.  Here’s to getting his sentence reduced for good behavior[slider title=”!”]All quotes were provided by The Associated Press.[/slider]
