THQ Nordic has officially unveiled a new IP called Biomutant, and based on its new cinematic trailer, it looks pretty radical. The game is an open-world RPG that allows players to genetically engineer their character’s abilities and appearances with various mutations. For example, in the trailer it looks like Rocket Raccoon’s cousin is fighting against a super-sized mutated Bugs Bunny.
Cinematic trailers are just that, they’re not reflective of the actual game’s visuals and gameplay, but they do serve as great introductions to a game’s world and characters. Head on up above to check out Biomutant for yourself. You can also check out the first screenshots from in-game footage below. They do look pretty and polished.
Set in an imaginative post-apocalyptic universe, BIOMUTANT is a kung fu fable filled with fantastic creatures to discover, dangerous factions to navigate, and colorful worlds to explore with mechs, paragliders, balloons, mounts, jet skis and more.
BIOMUTANT is expected to launch in 2018. The game will be playable at the THQ Nordic Booth at gamescom as well as at PAX West. For the latest updates as it develops, visit www.biomutant.com, and follow the team on Facebook and Twitter.
