Bioware: Mac Version of Star Wars: The Old Republic May be Released
Posted on January 3rd, 2012 by Entertainment Buddha | Filed under Apple, Apps, Gaming, PC, Previews | Comments (0)In a recent interview with Joystiq the two doctors of Bioware made it fairly clear that they’re seriously thinking about creating a Mac port of their wildly successful Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Praise the Gods! Now don’t get too excited fanboys, because nothing is set in stone, but from the sound of the Joystiq article I’d say there’s a better chance of a SWTOR Mac port getting made than one not getting made.
In the interview Ray Muzyka told Joystiq, ”We know there’s a big Mac audience of Bioware fans … we know that’s an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience,” he then went on to say, ”We’ve done a lot of Mac ports before of our games. We haven’t announced any details yet for The Old Republic, but we know that’s an important and large audience.”
Like I said, nothing about this exciting news for Mac users is set in stone, but unlike Han Solo, I DO have a good feeling about this. There has to be a fairly large pool of Mac gamers out there who are feeling left out because they can’t even demo this exalted MMO. I for one wish I could get in on the action, but my Alienware PC is a dinosaur, and I don’t want to f*ck up my Mac by installing a Windows partition. I guess like the rest of Mac Nation I’ll just have to idly sit on the sidelines and wait for Bioware’s final judgement on whether to move forward with the SWTOR Mac port or not. Let’s keep our collective fingers crossed for this one! You’ve been hoping that this happens sooner than later…
