Black Panther Up for Best Picture Plus All Other Oscars 2019 Nominations

It appears the Academy listened a little bit to the box office and fans alike, because for the first time every a comic book movie has been nominated for Best Picture thanks to Black Panther earning the nomination earlier this morning. It earned a few other nominations too, so amen to a geeky movie getting its due!

A Star is Born also earned multiple nominations, with Lady Gaga getting two. She’s up for Best Actress and Best Song, and I have a feeling she’ll take home at least one Oscar. Surprisingly, Bradley Cooper isn’t up for Best Director, but he did get nods for Best Actor and Adapted Screenplay.

It should also be noted that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is up for Best Animated Feature, and if it doesn’t win, the whole show is rigged. For real.
