Blade Runner/District 9 Inspired ‘True Skin’ Short to Get a Feature Film

I’ll be honest with you.  Last week I felt some rumblings in the Buddha Force in regards to a sci-fi short being lauded as a Blade Runner meets District 9 mashup, but I let you all down just like Luke did in Empire by not posting it.  After reading today that True Skin has been picked up to be produced as a feature film by David Heyman (Harry Potter anyone) I had to give it a look.  I’m glad I did because True Skin could be one of the most awesomely put together amateur sci-fi shorts of 2012, if not this century.  It’s visual style and story are right up my alley, so I’m definitely on board with a feature film version.

I don’t see a full on District 9 connection, but I do see hints of Deus Ex: Human Revolution in there.  Let’s just hope Hollywood doesn’t f*ck up what Stephan Zlotescu created.  I highly suggest checking out True Skin after the break.  Don’t be like me.  It’ll only take up 6 minutes of your time.  Give it a chance.  You’ve been thinking these dudes love neon and blacklights…
