Bladepad controller for iOS

Bladepad controller for iOS

For some reason we completely missed the reveal of the Bladepad, which is a console-like controller that can attach to certain iOS devices. From the two trailers that have been released for it, the gadget looks promising, and will definitely take your iOS mobile gaming habit to the next level. Let’s face it, virtual controllers have gotten better, but for twitchy genres like FPSs, they’re not ideal, so a device like this could come in handy for serious mobile gamers.

The Bladepad will be on display at E3, so hopefully I’ll be able to get some hands on time with it. The only downside I see right now is the fact that it’s device specific and not universal. It may be hard for some iOS gamers to plunk down $99 for a Bladepad if they plan on buying the next version of iDevices in 2013, because it will instantly become obsolete for the new iPhone, or Touch.

Regardless, it’s a cool looking accessory that may warrant a purchase if you plan on keeping your current iOS device for the foreseeable future. If anything, at least it has some rad flashing backlights!

For more details on the Bladepad head over to their official site, or check out the preview trailers for it after the break.
