Today Gearbox and 2K officially unveiled Borderlands 3, as well as a few other franchise announcements that will get fans quite happy.
First and foremost though, you have to check out the Borderlands 3 reveal trailer below, which clocks in at almost 4-minutes long. It’s packed full of all things Borderlands, including guns with legs. Yes, guns with legs!
At this time though that’s all we got on Borderlands 3, but more news is going to drop on April 3rd.
Gearbox also announced Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition and Ultra HD Texture Pack for the other available Borderlands games to boost their visuals. Finally, all remaining Borderlands 2 DLC is headed to Borderlands 2 VR. Additional details for the reveals can be found below.
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
In addition to confirming Borderlands 3, Gearbox and 2K also announced Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition. With brand new weapons, substantial visual upgrades, quality of life improvements, all four add-on packs, and more, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is the brand new definitive version of the award-winning 2009 first-person shooter/role-playing game hybrid Borderlands, available now for the first time on current generation consoles.
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition launches April 3, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC – that’s next week!
HD Texture Pack
HD updates are coming for the rest of the core Borderlands titles as well thanks to the Ultra HD Texture Pack. This free, optional download increases the visual fidelity of Borderlands:The Handsome Collection and its DLC on consoles, and provides a visual upgrade for Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all their DLC on PC. Players will best appreciate all the added detail at 4K resolution, but improvements can be enjoyed on other displays as well.
All new and existing product owners will be able to download the texture pack starting April 3, 2019, making the Borderlands back catalogue even more enticing for fans who can’t wait to play Borderlands 3.
