Buddha-cast: Ep. 46 – “The Video Game Backlog Conundrum and Masochistic Gaming”

On the latest episode of the original Buddhacast the team analyzes the explosion of video game backlogs and how the phenomena has grown out of control over the past five years or so thanks to forces like PS+, Games with Gold, F2P, smartphone/tablet games, and the Indie movement. Each member of the cast gives their opinion on how the video game backlog conundrum began, and how it personally affects the way they play games these days thanks to all of the awesome titles that are readily available, and most times free to play thanks to subscription services and other industry shifts as mentioned above.

From there the discussion moves into the trend of developers purposely creating super challenging games that drive gamers to the brink of madness while playing them and trying to overcome the extreme difficulty. Recent games like Ori and the Blind Forest and Bloodborne are showcased during the conversation. You can listen to the episode on YouTube above, or through iTunes below.
