Bret Robbins, the creative director at Sledgehammer Games, talks about the making of the new Call of Duty, in relation to its story, in this new behinds the scenes trailer. Robbins doesn’t drop any details on the story itself, but talks more on the way the studio delivers the games narrative experience to the player.

The Call of Duty franchise has delivered a very story driven experience, with an array of set pieces and scripted events that drive the player through a cinematic first person shooter experience. The use of advanced technology within the game itself is paralleled by the use of technology by the studio within the development process. Sledgehammer seems to be priding itself on the use of modern cinematic technology to bring a high level of realism to the games story.

As to be expected from a AAA title, the story does seem compelling, with it focusing on the lead protagonist Private Mitchell (Not to be confused with Captain Mitchell from the similar named Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare).

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due for release November 4 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Watch the trailer above to see a glimpse of what Sledgehammer’s been doing for the past 3 years.
