Some recent domain name registrations and trademark filings by Activision have led to some speculations on the new direction of the COD franchise.  The publisher registered callofdutyfuturewarfare.com, along with callofdutyfuturewarfare2.com and callofdutyfuturewarfare3.com.  Interesting?  Activision has also filed for spacewarfare2.com, spacewarfare3.com, secretwarfare2.com, secretwarfare3.com, Advancedwarfare2.com, and advancedwarfare3.com.

Will COD be headed into space?  Will they be battling the forces of Darth Vader and the Empire?  These new titles hint to some sort of space-action, so we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out.  Maybe some more light will be shed on this topic at the upcoming E3 trade show in June.  You’ve been Call of Dutied space style…
