Captain America Director Wants to do a Boba Fett Feature Film

Joe Johnston, a director of many geeky films including this week’s Captain America: The First Avenger, has discussed possibly making a film starring Boba Fett with George Lucas.  Considering that Johnston has extensively worked with George in the past (ESB, ROTJ, Raiders) maybe he can convince the Emperor, I mean Lucas, to license out the galaxy’s baddest bounty hunter.  In an interview with Screen Rant Joe Johnston stated the following on the matter:

“I’m trying to get George to make a feature based on Boba Fett.” When asked if he would direct the film Johnston said simply, “I would like to, it would be a lot of fun.”

Personally, I think the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse showing up on my front door is more realistic than George Lucas making another feature length Star Wars movie of any kind, but money talks so who knows if this will ever go anywhere.  Luckily, Johnston and George have a history, so if anyone would be able to convince the creator of the Force to open up his sandbox for others to play in, it’d probably be him.  In the meantime what would you think about a Star Wars movie that focused on Fett versus the Jedi and Sith?  Let us know using the comments section below.  You’ve been wishing anyone but Lucas would make another Star Wars movie…

On a side note you have to watch this Boba Fett song that Blastr had posted with the article.
