With the arrival of Disney+, Disney’s upcoming streaming service, the Disney Vault will be no more! This means that classic Disney movies will no longer be unavailable to buy, because they’ll all be on the streaming service, and I’m talking ALL of them will be on the service.
According to Polygon, Bob Iger explained today that soon after Dinsey+ launches, the Vault program will be deep sixed, and the entire Disney library would then be streamable. This includes the MCU and Star Wars franchises as well. The service will also get all new Disney movies, MCU films, and Star Wars films within a year of their theatrical release.
I mean how can anyone pass on this service at this point? Star Wars fans have known since day one it’d be unavoidable thanks to the live-action shows being created for it, but now it’s completely unavoidable. Just ask any parent how helpful it’ll be to have the entire Disney catalogue at the tip of their fingers! It truly will be one of the greatest catalogues in streaming service history.
We still don’t have a go live date for the service, but I’d expect it to hit this fall, so stay tuned for more details as they become available.
