Bethesda has put out almost 10-minutes of Rage 2 pre-beta gameplay, and considering its unfinished code, the footage looks pretty damn good.
What initially stands out to me is the silky smooth frame rate, which just makes the visuals flow seamlessly, even with all of the intense action taking place. I also like how the visuals are a blend of insane, cyberpunk VFX and the bland tones of a Mad Max film. The contrast provides some very interesting color bombs, and a unique looking palette overall.
I was also a fan of watching the player fly on a drone. It’s just a very interesting looking aircraft that looks like a mix of a drone and a speeder bike from Star Wars.
The gameplay doesn’t really follow a particular mission, rather it features all of the different activities you can come across while exploring the Wasteland, and it looks like there will be plenty to keep you busy.
Rage 2 hits PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 14, 2019.
