CineFix Steps Up Their Game with Homemade Death Star Trench Run

The CineFix team may have just released their best ever homemade movie scene. This week’s video features the iconic Death Star trench run that Luke and his fellow X-Wing (and Y-Wing as escorts) pilots embarked on to take down the Empire’s formidable space station of death.

The homemade version of this scene actually mirrors the original perfectly. If you consider that Lucas and his upstart ILM team used models and simple camera tricks to pull off the actual scene way back in 1977, it makes sense as to why CineFix was able to nail the reproduction. Their cardboard sets and X-Wing cockpit look just like the real thing, or at least a high quality pre-viz version of the trench run, and the overall result is awesome.

You can check out their version of this infamous movie climax after the break, as well as a side-by-side comparison to prove how money their recreation actually is.
