CliffyB Drops Gears of War 3 Trailer on Fallon – Watch Here!

It wasn’t a big surprise after all of the speculation going on last week, and the resulting errant reveal on Xbox Live, but CliffyB did deliver the first trailer for Gears of War 3 on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night.  I didn’t watch it live because it was during my Spartacus Blood and Sand sacred time, but I have the details for you.

Gears of War 3 will be released on April 5, 2011 in the US and Asia, April 7 in Japan, with my boys in the EU not getting it until April 8th.  You would think that this big of a release would drop worldwide on the same date.  I don’t get why there aren’t worldwide releases for all games.  We have a freaking space station floating above Earth, yet we can’t get a deal done to release video games on the same date all across the world.  Go figure, I’m sure there’s some back room publishing deals done that dictate the release schedule.  Oh well, I’m sure the street date will be broken by some gas station that sells video games, so much for legal business practices.

There weren’t many details outside of the release date, and Cliffy hyping that it will be bigger and badder.  In the trailer you do see a girl COG, so like many have hypothesized we may see some female warriors in the finale of the Gears of War saga.  Check out Dom’s new look.  He kind of looks like Wolverine, right?  I can’t believe he was ready to just get curbed stomped, go Marcus!  It’s an all cinematic trailer typical for the series when a new game is announced, so don’t expect any gameplay shots.  Here we go, another round of Gears mania has officially begun.

You’ve been curb stomped…
