Compulsion Games Launches We Happy Few Kickstarter
Compulsion Games have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming title, We Happy Few, in hopes to raise $250,00 CAD to polish, trim and otherwise improve the game.
First shown off at PAX East 2015, We Happy Few blends 1984-esque paranoia with survival elements, as players navigate a procedurally generated city filled with drug-addled citizens.
Compulsion Games’ have stated that We Happy Few is all about suspicion, as the entirety of Wellington Wells’ society spends their days blissfully hopped up on a drug called Joy. As such, anyone who doesn’t take the drug, much like your character in the game, is immediately marked as a danger to society. Much of We Happy Few revolves around sneaking, avoiding suspicion, and doing everything in your power to stay clean and out of trouble.
The We Happy Few Kickstarter is full of great little details about the game, showing just how much has evolved since the title was first shown at PAX East. Compulsion’s vision for the game is one of psychedelic vibes and dystopian elements. While survival in Wellington Wells is by no means a guarantee, it does look like a damn good time.
