Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone Gameplay Video Preview: Balanced Chaos
I just got done with an hour or so of Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone, which is the game’s separately downloaded multiplayer mode, and one that is a bit chaotic to say the least. In a good way that is.
I got a chance to preview two of the modes featured in Wrecking Zone, which are Agent Hunter and Territories.
Agent Hunter is a team deathmatch variant in which you must collect a badge after a kill for it to count towards your team’s score. The big difference in Wrecking Zone’s version, is that the map, outside of an electrified bottom floor, is completely destructible. This is where the real fun comes in, because every match I played turned into pure lunacy, but with enough structure to make it feel like a controlled and fair competitive experience. I mean blasting massive structures to weed out bad guys, or to just gain some energy for a special is very therapeutic.
I also checked out Territories, which is a common multiplayer variant found in most shooters these days. I will say that I preferred this mode over Agent Hunter, because the focus on closed quarter skirmishes while protecting capture points provided for even more mayhem and destruction. I absolutely loved holding down a point and just blasting incoming enemies while dodging through building to avoid return fire. The destruction aspect really does lend to some very interesting firefights in this mode, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.
