Create Your Own Star Wars Holo Projector With an iPad and the Kinect

I may have to start learning how to hack the Kinect now that it is possible to create 3D augmented reality projections with it when combined with an iPad, and the String SDK.  The geeks over at LAAN labs have done just this, and I must say that it is a thing of technological beauty.  Imagine the scene in Star Wars where Luke cleans R2, which in turn kicks off Leia’s distress call for help.  You can essentially do that now with the tools mentioned above, and obviously a little technical know-how.  The result should make any Star Wars fan get a little nostalgic.  Check out the video below to see this geekery in action.  Thanks to @TreborNoslen for the submission!  You’ve been thinking that we get closer and closer to the sci-fi movie world each day…
