Daisy Ridley Talks Rey’s Blurred Lines and How The Last Jedi Cut Surprised Her
This morning Daisy Ridley appeared on Good Morning America this morning to talk about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and she offered up a few good teases. I wouldn’t call them spoilers by any means, but they’re definitely interesting.
Her first revelation is that this movie will not feature a purely good or purely bad Rey. She made it sound like the lines between pure good and evil will be blurred a bit, and that Rey wouldn’t just fall on one side or the other. She made it sound like Rey would be exploring her own path in the middle, and that by not having her being fully good makes the ending of the movie more rich.
She also went on to say that when she saw the final cut of The Last Jedi that it surprised her in a good way. She explained that she wasn’t involved in all of the major scenes this time around, so when she did see the final cut of the movie, it offered up a few major surprises. Considering she worked on the film for months on end, I find it very exciting that the end product blew her away. If people working on it found it to be surprising, just imagine how we all will respond!
You can check out the full interview above. Most of The Last Jedi talk takes place after the 2:28 mark.
