After positive reviews for the initial season, Daredevil has been given a second season on Netflix, along with a change in showrunner. Steven S. DeKnight is stepping down and will be replaced by writers Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez. DeKnight said this in a statement:

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with the show moving forward.”

Netflix is also slated to release three other Marvel shows in A.K.A Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and will have a culmination show called The Defenders, which will feature all four heroes. A.K.A Jessica Jones is the next in line for release sometime later this year, though no specific date has been confirmed.

Season two of Daredevil is expected for release next year.
