Dark Horse and Blizzard Team Up for World of Warcraft: Chronicle Book Series

Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard have announced a partnership that will bring a multi-volume series of books to fans of the World of Warcraft franchise with a new series of books called the World of Warcraft: Chronicle.

Each volume will aim to tell the lore of the WoW franchise during a time before the stories that have been featured in the game. Paul Sams, chief operating officer of Blizzard Entertainment commented on why the WoW book series was pursued by saying, “We often get questions from players who want to know more about the origins of the Warcraft universe, and the rise and fall of their favorite characters. This new series digs deeply into all of that—we can’t wait for players to read it.”

The hardcover books will feature 20 fully illustrated pages by Peter Lee in addition to the written content. World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 doesn’t go on sale until November 4, 2015 in comic shops, and then on November 17, 2015 online. It will retail for $29 and can be pre-ordered today.

You can check out a synopsis of the first volume below.

World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 is a journey through an age of myth and legend, a time long before the Horde and the Alliance came to be. This definitive tome of Warcraft history reveals untold stories about the birth of the cosmos, the rise of ancient empires, and the forces that shaped the world of Azeroth and its people.
