The Xbox One has been taking a beating this week over its lack of 1080p resolution in some of its launch titles. Call of Duty: Ghosts has been confirmed to only run at 720p and 30fps, and so has Dead Rising 3. I must admit that the news is troubling, but I still have full confidence that at least Dead Rising 3 will look fine and play great on the Xbox One, even at 720p (viewed at E3 in person).
It’s a shame that these games are getting hammered in the public opinion arena before they’ve even been released to the wild, because until you truly play a game, or at least see it first hand, can you really know if its resolution and frame rate ruin its fun factor? My answer is no, but I get why gamers are concerned. Just keep your concern from turning into hate speak and fanboy attacks.
Microsoft has released a batch of new screenshots for Dead Rising 3, and while they’re only screens that don’t offer a true look at the game’s resolution, the still look great. The screens depict some of the game’s cinematic scenes, as well as a bit of actual gameplay. You can check them out after the break to see if Dead Rising 3 is truly a visually subpar game or not. In a few weeks Xbox One early adopters will know for sure, as Dead Rising 3 will be available at launch on November 22, 2013.
