Destiny: The Taken King Sets Download Record on PS Consoles and Beats Original’s Launch

Activision has officially confirmed that Destiny: The Taken King is a smash hit with gamers thanks to it breaking two records upon its release.

The Taken King is now the most downloaded day one game on PlayStation consoles, which goes to show that Sony’s deal to have exclusive content first paid off yet again. The Taken King was also played by more people on its launch day than the original Destiny, which has affectionately become known as the year long beta amongst gamers.

I for one contributed to the second record, and I’m thankful for it, because like many others have reported, The Taken King IS what we all thought Destiny would be this time last year. I highly recommend getting back on the bandwagon if you dropped off like me, because the entire presentation has been refined thanks to a year of testing and development. I also recommend starting a new character and reliving the game all over again if you haven’t played since last fall, especially with the power-up gem you get that auto-levels you to 25.

Destiny: The Taken King is now available for all platforms!
