Diablo 3 Auction House Delayed Indefinitely and Monk Class Nerfed

Blizzard announced today that the Diablo 3 auction house has been put on hold for the time being.  It was supposed to launch with the debut of the game itself, but considering all of the snafus that occurred during the game’s first week in the wild, this feature has been delayed for the time being.  This is probably a major bummer for those D3 players who planned on retiring from their sh*tty jobs to get rich quick farming gear and characters in the game, but for now they’ll have to stick to flipping burgers, or chipping gum off of toilet seats to make a living.

In much more depressing news Blizzard has also released a patch for D3 that will nerf some of the Monk classes’ abilities.  The tweaks are related to the Monk’s active Fists of Thunder ability, and the Mantra of Healing ability.  I guess my lowly level 23 Monk will now be less of a one man fighting machine after I update my copy of Diablo 3 later today.  Bummer, I really enjoyed my overpowered kung-fu fighting friend who I aptly named Daniel San.  You can check out the full list of the Monk class tweaks below.  You’ve not played on Xbox Live since this game came out…

Monk Class Nerfs

Active Skills
Fists of Thunder

  • Skill Rune – Quickening

Fixed an issue that was causing spirit regeneration to incorrectly trigger off critical hits from other sources, such as Sweeping Wind

Mantra of Healing

  • Mantra of Healing will now correctly provide only two times the base healing effect for the first 3 seconds after activation, down from four times the base healing effect (tooltip will still show the old value)
  • Skill Rune – Boon of Protection

A maximum absorption amount has been set to 1000 Life. This skill will be redesigned in an upcoming patch
