Artist Jerrod Maruyama has a big book of clients, and Disney is one of his most notable. In fact, some of his portfolio can be seen at the WonderGround gallery at both U.S. Downtown Disney locations.
If you’re a fan of this site, then you know we love Star Wars, and I essentially worship the universe, so it shouldn’t surprise you that my favorite pieces from Jerrod are all rooted in the Star Wars universe. I have chosen three pieces in particular that really stood out to me to share with our fans. The first can be seen below, and it is titled, “The Dark Side and The Light.” As you can see it plays themes of the Force, and those who use it by matching Light Side figures with their Dark Side counterparts. I just love the contrast, but also how the good guys are basically in chibi-form to represent their goodness, while the Dark Side figures are more ominous looking and in adult forms.
The second piece uses Jerrod’s iconic style once again, but this time around the piece features various important scenes from the Star Wars franchise of films.
Finally, I dug this last piece because to me it’s in the form of the Death Star, and that Death Star just so happens to be created from various smaller works of art based on characters and items from the Star Wars universe.
