Downwell Announced for Mobile and PC Platforms with Screens

Devolver Digital and Indie dev Ojiro Fumoto have unveiled the latest game from the developer’s mind, which is Downwell, a curious game about a man with guns for boots. New screenshots for the game have been released to accompany the announcement, which you can see after the break.

Your task in Downwell is to guide the gun boot wearing hero deeper and deeper down a well in search of treasure. To me the game has a classic Kid Icarus feel with a splash of Metroid thanks to the verticality featured in the level design. Downwell will be playable at both GDC and PAX East, but for now you can enjoy the retro looking visuals that it’ll feature to hold you over until some gameplay action drops.

The game will be available for iOS, Android, and PC later this year. Head over to the official website for more details.
