EarthFall had a pretty big presence this year at PAX East 2017–huge sign, spotlights, giant alien monster statue–it was cool! I must have walked by the game a dozen times going to other appointments before I finally had the chance to come over and play. I really had no idea what the game was going to be like from the footage I was seeing. It looked like a generic FPS with aliens…yawn.

Upon further inspection (read: actually playing the game), however, I realized that it’s actually something I’ve been waiting for for a while!

What I’ve been waiting for is a worthy successor to Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, which I’ve been without for quite some time. From the moment I started playing the demo, picking my weapon from the lot that were available and trying to figure out where the hell to go, it was just like starting L4D for the first time. The gameplay was simple enough with a cool take on getting new weapons throughout the level by using 3D printers. The printers would have a random selection of weapons every time you’d approach a new one, ranging from assault rifles to shotguns, to new grenades and more!

Check out the trailer we’ve got above and let us know if you’d love to play Left 4 Dead’s extra-terrestrial cousin, EarthFall!
