Around January of last year Epic trademarked the name Gears of War: Exile and its logo, but they didn’t offer up many details in regards to what type of project would be.  Some speculated that it would be a prequel story (I was one of them), while others pondered if it was an on rails Kinect shooter.  Unfortunately, we will never know what exactly Exile was going to be, because it has been officially cancelled.  During Epic’s PAX East panel Gears creator Cliff Bleszinski told Gamespot, “Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can’t give any details about that has since been cancelled.”

I guess that’s that.  We will never truly know what Exile was going to be about, which is a shame.  I think Gears fans would eat up any type of Gears related game, but obviously the powers that be did not.  You’ve been thinking you’d really like to know what this game was all about…
