Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel Strikes an Action Pose in The Hobbit 2
Evangeline Lilly’s made up character for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy can be seen striking a Legolas-like pose in a new shot from The Desolation of Smaug courtesy of EW. Tauriel is the name of the elf she plays, and rumor has it that the character was created as a love interest for one of the dwarves.
Fans shouldn’t be worried about this movie-only character considering Pete’s track record with live-action Middle Earth movies. If he and his writing team found it necessary to have Tauriel in the story, then we should trust their judgment. Although, it’s completely acceptable for Tolkien purists to take umbrage with Jackson’s tinkering, because everyone has a right to their own opinions in life. This is especially true for fanboys, fangirls, geeks, and gamers.
Head on down past the break to check out Lilly as Tauriel. Just watch your eyes because she’s a great shot.
