AURORA44 and Annapurna Interactive have released an extended gameplay demo for Ashen, which is an action-RPG focused on survival and discovery. The game was first revealed a few years back at E3 during Microsoft’s press conference, but then information on it all but disappeared until this past E3, where it showed up again at a Microsoft gaming event. I got to play it at said event, and it was interesting to say the least. I’m not sure it’s the style of game for me, but others who enjoy survival-centric action-RPGs, it may be right up your alley.
This gameplay video will help you decide though, because it’s straight up gameplay and not some sort of sizzle reel. Plus, there’s a bit of a guided narration, so you’re not completely lost while watching the action play out on screen. This is the most comprehensive look at Ashen to-date, so if you’ve had interest in it in the past, now is your time to get your best look at what it has to offer.
Ashen is an action RPG about a wanderer in search of a place to call home. This is a world where nothing lasts, no matter how tightly you cling to it. At its core, Ashen is about forging relationships. Players can guide those they trust to their camp – together, you might just stand a chance.
