Over $60 worth of Fallout 4 content is planned for 2016, and this announcement merely marks the beginning of it all. Three separate add-ons have been unveiled: Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor. These will be released periodically throughout the first half of 2016, and far more is still to come.
The current price of Fallout 4‘s Season Pass (effectively locking in automatic access to the game’s DLC as they release) is $29.99. Due to the expanded DLC plan, this price will jump up to $49.99 starting March 1, 2016. Those who have already purchased the pass or plan on doing so before March 1st will still receive the same amount of content as advertised, so don’t worry about seeing an extra fee tacked on somewhere down the road.
Free updates will continue to be released throughout the year, including an updated Survival Mode boasting the inclusion of hunger, thirst, infectious diseases and more. While it seems we may be waiting a bit longer for news on the new GECK, the announcement of these three DLC packs clearly prove that we are far from done with Fallout 4‘s universe:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.
If you’d like the chance to play any of these add-ons before their release, you can sign up here to try your luck at getting into their closed beta testings. These tests will be on both consoles and PC, which makes having a Bethesda.net account the only requirement to apply. The lucky few who get picked will receive codes to download the full versions of the add-ons and will not be required to purchase them individually.
