Fan Made ‘Rogue Binks: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer Reminds Us of His Importance to the Franchise

Jar-Jar Binks. Jar-Jar Binks. Just say his name over and over and you’ll instantly be transported back to 1999 where he made is full on CGI appearance in The Phantom Menace, and proceeded to act like a jackass for the sake of the children before effectively giving the Supreme Chancellor all the power he needed to become the Emperor. That’s the type of characters and storytelling we got in the prequels, and he definitely stands out as one of their biggest mistakes.

Fast forward to 2016 and be thankful that the prequels are now all at least 10 years old and hopefully forgotten, because they’re still the biggest blemish on the Star Wars saga to date. Disney has since rescued the franchise from its creator, who we all obviously adore, but some of us, including myself, will probably never understand why he made so many poor choices with the prequels and subsequent bastardized special cuts of the original films.

We will never live Jar-Jar down though as is evident in a new fan made trailer that pits him as the lead in the upcoming Rogue One, which was sent to us by KungFu Treachery. It’s just too cheeky not to watch, so check out the trailer created by the murdockmotion YouTube channel above and be happy that it’s just a fan project, because Jar-Jar still clearly ruins any and all things Star Wars.

The real Rogue One hits theaters on December 16th.
